Tank Bag Installation Problem

Postby Uncle Bucks » Mon Mar 08, 2010 1:48 pm

Trying to install the big BMW tank bag (think it is about 23 liters) on 06 1200 GS but have lost the front attachment strap. Any suggestions on how to make a front strap/connection mechanism would be appreciated. Hate to give up the bag. Many thanks.

If you are just missing one of the nylon straps, you can buy a plastic buckle and have the shoe repair guy sew you up another strap for a little or nothing.

And, depending on the brand, you can sometimes call the manufacturer (not the retail guy), and buy a replacement strap. Sometimes, depending on how friendly the person you talk to feels that day, they will just give you one.

Thanks, called Bloodworth before making this post. They could not get a replacement part. Will do as you suggested - make one.
